Music at Coleby
Our intent
At Coleby Primary School, our intent is that children appreciate music as a subject that is accessible to all and fully inclusive. We aim to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of listening to and making music, and increase self-confidence through achievement. Pupils should develop the ability to create and improve compositions. All pupils will: perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, cultures, genres, styles and traditions. They will also learn to sing and use their voices; have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and use technology appropriately. Children at Coleby School will experience and understand the musical elements: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and use appropriate musical notation.
