Formal, national assessments
These take place and are reported to parents as follows:
Year One June Phonics Screening Check. This is also for those children in Year Two that did not meet the expected standard in Year One. Due to COVID 19 children missed this and were, instead, tested in December 2020.
May End of Key Stage One SATS
End of Key Stage Two SATS
nb: statutory assessments will not take place in 2021.
In addition to the national assessments from Year One to Year Six we track progress using Assertive Mentoring. Just before Christmas, Easter and the end of the Summer Term we send parents a sheet informing them of their child's latest targets, derived from assessments. This sheet also has a grid using traffic light colours to inform them about attendance, punctuality, homework, kit / equipment, behaviour and effort. Teachers meet individually in Assertive Mentoring Meetings with the children to discuss the targets and the colours. The aim is to be all green!
